7 Things You Didn’t Know About a Zombie Apocalypse

Pack of Zombies Ready to Attack

You hear a noise in the kitchen at night, and the first thing you grab is a bowl to cover your head with in case it turns out to be the start of the zombie apocalypse. You walk past a graveyard and quicken your steps for fear that the undead might be lurking in the shadows. While no one says it out loud, everyone is aware of the impending zombie apocalypse, and when it comes, you want to be prepared. The American Escape Room experience is your chance to learn the tricks that zombies use to creep up on unsuspecting humans and how you can prevent yourself from becoming a member of the undead.
Read on as we uncover 7 guarded secrets on how the zombie army is building and the factors that are leading up to the zombie apocalypse:

1. Mad Cow Disease is a Transmitter

Discovered in the 1980s, Mad Cow Disease takes over the brain and the spinal cord of the cow and makes it a mindless creature, randomly stumbling and attacking those around it. Imagine the number of people who have been infected to date because of any diseased meat they could have eaten accidentally (or on purpose to build an army). The symptoms of humans turning into zombies as a result of mad cow include seizures and jerking muscles, delusions and hallucinations, and lack of coordination in physical movement.

2. Zombies Don’t Travel in Packs

Being mindless creatures and given that there are diseases and viruses that can turn creatures into zombies, there may be lone wolves lurking next door. This means that you can’t detect the zombie apocalypse beforehand, but you need to have your wits around you at all times.

3. Brain Parasites & Neurotoxins Are a Real Threat

Certain toxic parasites attack animals like rats that scurry through your plumbing. These rats then get bitten by cats, who are then affected by this same parasite. If you live in the constant paranoia that your cat is trying to killing, you might not be far off from the truth. Some of these parasites, such as toxoplasma, are known to be found in nearly half of the human population. This means that there’s a 50% chance that you might wake up as a zombie one day and become a part of the zombie apocalypse
Some poisons (neurotoxins) can cause neurotoxicity, where you’re still alive but brain dead (the ultimate definition of a zombie). Historically, such poisons have been incorporated into voodoo practices to create zombies. The operations that have gone undetected might be leading up to a zombie apocalypse.

4. Fire Won’t Help You Combat the Apocalypse

If you’ve ever played a zombie apocalypse game, you’ll know that fire is never one of the tools you use to get rid of them. This is because even though zombies can be destroyed with fire, they don’t realize they’re going up in flames and can spread the fire everywhere before turning into dust. With everything around you going up in flames, zombies will be the last of your worries.

5. Nano-Viruses Are in the Process of Creation

Scientists are working on creating nanobots in the form of small silicon chips that can be placed on your brain and can stay alive for up to a month even after you die. In fact, there is ongoing research to make these bots repair the damaged wiring in your brain so that you can be controlled by whoever’s controlling the bot.
Stem Cell Research Can Be Used to Create Zombies

6. Stem cell research is aimed at reviving dead cells.

However, even if a human’s brain cells can be revived, the outer layer that makes them, well, human, will remain dead. They’ll just be left with their general motor skills and their primitive human instincts, which means being able to walk and destroy anything that comes in their path. And the worst part is that you don’t even know if scientists are working on stem cells to help humans or create an undead army.

7. Virtual Reality Training Helps

While people may turn to escape games as something they do for fun, these escape rooms can prepare you for zombie encounters. They’ll help you figure out how zombies manage to stay hidden and attack unsuspecting humans without a fully-functional brain. They also show you how you can discover the one pulling the strings of these walking corpses.

Consider this a red alert to start your apocalypse training. Sign up for the American Escape Room experience for a fun and educational zombie-attack training experience.
